For centuries strawberry have been the most highly prized and healthy food. They were valued for their therapeutic properties in Ancient Rome and have been cultivated in Europe since the middle ages, Strawberries were developed in the 19th century from small wild strawberries from Virginia. They are rich in vitamin C and B vitamins and contains potassium, iron and fibre. Always try to buy locally grown fruits and check those at the bottom of the bag, making sure they are not damaged . It is best not to wash strawberries, as they easily become waterlogged. If they are dry wipe them gently. We can served them in many different ways, with sugar or without.
